The head of the HFR Sergey Shishkarev commented on the appointment of Lev Voronin to the post of the head coach of the men’s national team of Russia.
— Today we said goodbye to Velimir Petkovic, who worked with the national team of Russia in a difficult time. Velimir faithfully accomplished the work. At my suggestion, the Olympic champion Lev Gennadievich Voronin is appointed to the post of the head coach. It isn’t a spontaneous decision. He has a professional experience, he won the national Cup with Permskie Medvedi and worked in the coaching staff of the national team, that allows to combine the positions of the CEO and the head coach of the national team. I’m sure that Lev Gennadievich will prepare the national team in the qualification round for the Olympic Games 2028, — Sergey Shishkarev stated at the HFR High Council meeting in Moscow.
