The right back of the Russian national team and Brest Bretagne Handball Anna Vyakhireva said in the interview to RT about the change of sports citizenship.
— Have you ever been offered to change citizenship?
— Not officially.
— But the issue definitely arose in private conversations, didn’t it?
— Yes. I never considered such options. I’m not interested in it. There is no sense to change citizenship in my case, if we consider the change regarding sport. My performance for the national team of Russia is a long and beautiful story and I have absolutely no desire to blur it, even if I suddenly decide to end up with handball or if I never have an opportunity to play under the Russia flag again. I’m not speaking about life situations. If it turns out that I start a family with a foreigner, probably, I won’t exclude the necessity to get a second passport. At least in order to be close to the loved one, — the handball player shared.
