The right back of the Russian national team Valeria Maslova told Sport-Express about adaptation in Ferencvarosi TC and desire to play for HC Rostov-Don in future.
— You changed French Brest Bretagne, where you held a strong season, for Ferencvarosi TC in summer. Have you already settled in the Hungarian club?
— My adaptation is well under way. This process took less time in Brest, because I had already played in France before it for Metz and knew the local championship. I just had to fit in the team, with lots of newcomers even without me. In Hungary I need to get used to the team, to the completely different championship, style of play, country, mentality. Of course, this season is more difficult than the previous one in this regard. But as I always say, a change of scenery is always an experience, growth as individuals that will bear fruit in future. And the present situation is not an exclusion. Indeed, it’s hard, but it’s great to be here, after all, Ferencvarosi is a big club with a rich history and traditions. For example, fans have a significant influence here. And it feels nice to be a part of something meaningful. It provides additional motivation.
— Would you like to return to the Russian championship in the future?
— Currently, the European arena is ideal for me and I can hardly imagine my return in the short term. But in future I would like to play for Rostov-Don again, which holds a special place in my heart, come being a mature player. But it’s difficult to say when it happens, — Valeria Maslova said.
