The head coach of the men’s national team of Russia Lev Voronin commented on the choice of the squad for the friendly tournament in Iran.
— The team will gather in Novogorsk on March 9. Some players will come after SEHA-League matches, the rest a bit earlier. Two workouts are planned for the next day, the flight for Shiraz with a change in Istanbul is scheduled for March 11. The players have to recall interactions and practices from the previous training session in this short period of hime. Currently, we focus on the fact that we will play with Iran and Belarus, but, probably, the fourth team will participate in the tournament.
The squad remains stable for the third consecutive training session. Thereby, a certain teamwork is already visible. It’s clear that changes are always possible, but we try to build the work in a way that the core remains. I am in touch with Sergey Mark Kosorotov, whom we would like to see in the team, but he won’t be on this training session due to a number of circumstances.
It can be seen that young players feel more confident with each training session. They cope with excitement better. Considering the fact that over the past few years we often meet with the national team of Belarus, this travel will be a new page in the history of the team.
